Moonshine

I have made 2 small batches of moonshine recently both taste like crap and have no kick to them. Here's what I used,2 lbs. cornmeal, 3 lbs. sugar both put in 2 1/2 gal of 90 degree water, stirred until sugar dissolved then I added 1/2 pouch of turbo yeast and let it sit in 70 degree room for 5 days then ran it through my still. What am I doing wrong? any help would be appreciated.
