I have heard a story somewhere about a statue of Daniel outside the Cathedral of Metz. Appearently Keiser Wilhelm did not like it and changed the head of Daniel with a head of himself. The head of Daniel was placed in the archives... But when Hitler came along he apparently put the head of Daniel back.
What do you think was the issues involved in the particular interest of the Furer Hitler in this statue?

I am glad if anyone can give me a good answer and hint me to some historical literature that will tell the story in full.
