I have had a pair of red golden for three years. last year the female laid eggs in her nest. however she would remove them from the nest and then return them. she never did sit on them. she just now laid her first egg in the nest. i happened to peer in the next day to see if she removed it. what i saw was the male rolling the egg out of the nest and removing some of the nest material. i now believe he was the culprit last year. any suggestions as to why or has anyone else experienced this?
