Radiation poisoning

I have been reading about radiation poisoning all day because my husband is a Marine and was exposed over seas. I know temporary male sterility is a side effect of nuclear radiation sickness. But he was exposed to the kind of radiation they use for microwaves, measured by rf not rem. Does this type of radiation effect the body the same way? Is it more or less serious? Is there still a chance he could be steril? (his doctor said it is possible, but didnt specify whether it was permanent or temporary) Basically my main concern is being able to have children with my husband. I think it was only moderate radiation sickness because he was only sick for a couple days and he wasn't hospitalized or anything. The doctors just sent him to his room and in a few days he was back to normal. If anyone has any info I might find useful I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

hi there. back in the early 80's my father banned my mother from owning a microwave because of the belief even then that ones use, regularily, could have detrimental effects upon male sterility. it really depends upon the ammount of radiation your husband was exposed to. the fact that he suffered radiation poisoning suggests that there may be some long term effects but the fact is that we are all subject to the spillage of radiation that has been the 20th centuries curse upon man. when troups fire depleted uraniun in afghanistan or iraq it takes 5-7 days for some of those elements to be spread via climate to britain. urgo a dead talliban soldier could become arguably 3 women with breast cancer 2 men with testicular cancer 4 cases of leukemia and a stillborn child in the west. the fact is that studies into the long term effects of this kind of transmition are either suppressed or very hard to find.
ask your husband and give him your support. even if there are complications there ae things that can be done. be proud of your husband and give him the love he deserves that man is a living hero.god bess you both and i hope that it works out for you.

Thank you! It has been very difficult to find any information on this online and the VA doctors haven't exactly been helpful... I appreciate your encouraging words... Thanks again.
