I have been asked to take on a BMW R75/6 fom 1976 that has not been used since 1979. It was laid up with a good covering of waxoil, WD40 and kept dry. It is cleaning up nicely with loads of effort and with only about 9k on the clock should make a nice bike for the deceased owners daughter who has asked me to get it going for her. I am trying hard to keep the costs down as these bikes do not command high prices and the lady owner just wants it on the road as it was her Dad's bike.
I have tried connecting a battery but none of the warning lights nor anything else lights up and it would seem that there is a big short circuit in the system as the battery started to cook inside. It was connected properly !. Any ideas what I should start to lok for please ???
