I have a rather obscure question. Suppose you were a Swiss soldier fighting for Napoleon and deserted to return home (1813). Then, knowing you would be shot if you were found, you enlisted in the Regiment de Meuron. Where would you go to do that? Neuchatel? Or would you have to go all the way to the garrison in Malta? In other words, where were recruiters located in Switzerland?
