I have a eddystone m1917 it does not have the long wood stock.th estock ends about 15in from the end of the barrel.do you think the stock is not origonal or did they make ones without wood all the way to the end of the barrel

Alot of the rifle when brought back from overseas or in General were to long to fit into duffel bags and the stocks were cut at there the sling swivel would go. This was called a "duffel bag cut" so that the stock would also fit into the duffel bags as well as the barrel and reciever.
