I have a brown bess musket.39 inch barrel..markings are on the barrel wilson 1779 and the east india heart also ,these markings appear on the lockplate and the bayonet...
my question is were these muskets used during the american revolution..i have been told that they have excavated some of the lockplates at campsites here in america..with a date of 1779 on the gun i am only assuming that they were...could someone answer this for sure...
