I don't think your Fosbery was ever issued like you assume,
it might have been used as an officers sidearm, because a
British Officer had to buy his pistol, and he was more likely
to buy a .455 calibre one, for easy availabel ammo.
Congratulation to your cal.38 one, I have a .455 one, used it
twice, was like a pistol in slow motion.
