I have a Mossberg "New Haven" 600AT 12guage shotgun. On disassembly of the receiver mechanisms for cleaning, I inadvertently pulled the trigger on removing the trigger mechanism. The hammer is now in a "fired" or uncocked position on the trigger mechanism. I have been able to reassemble the trigger mechanism back into the receiver, but operating the slide action fails to cock the hammer.
Also, the bolt release button on the side of the trigger mechanism stays in a depressed position when I reassemble the trigger mechanism in the receiver. Is there a way to recock the hammer on the trigger mechanism prior to reassembling it in the receiver? Also if the hammer is able to be recocked prior to reassembly, will that cause the bolt release button to function properly?
