I have a 7 year old male Yorkie who is a wonderful, gentle and in general, great dog. Two weeks ago, I brought in a 12 week old female Yorkie puppy and he hates her. When I brought her to him, he just turned his head to the side. He will not acknowledge her at all although during the past two weeks, he lets me hold him and her together , one in each arm, which is progress. But when I put them both on the floor, the puppy starts to chase him and he runs away and growls and barks. Last night, she chased him again, and he turned around and faced her and really growled fiercly at her; then he jumped on the sofa and looked at her on the floor and was still growling. She chases him so hard that she pushes her nose on his leg or butt.

Any suggestions as to what to do so that he will accept her and eventually come to love her? Please help. I've kept them apart today and it has been much better. Also, some housebreaking tips for the new puppy. Thank you.
