I have a 2005 police intercepter, I was told that the lower ball joints were bad, so bought new ones and put it in the garage to have them changed. The mechanic told me the ball joints were ok but the hole in the steering knuckle was worn.I bought a set from a auto parts recycler and they are the same as mine, the bolt on the ball joint is 14mm and the hole in the knuckle is about 5/8 inch and is round which leads me to beleive it isn't worn but had the wrong ball joints installed. May ones from a reg Crown Vic instead of the intercepter.
I've checked different places for listings including the dealer and they all only have one listing for the lower ball joint. Question is... are there two diff sizes ball joints or do I have to order two new stub axles/knuckles from the dealer at 365.00 each.
Any help would be appreciated.
