I have a 1993 Plymouth Sundance Duster with an air conditioner issue. Does anyone out there have a step by step troubleshooting guide to help me diagnose the problem. The things I know for sure are, it is low on 134a, the clutch is not kicking in, there is no power going to the A/C clutch, I jumpered the low pressure switch and still nothing to the clutch. I'm at a loss. Could it be the A/C switch on the climate control modual, or the A/C relay or a broken wire. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If the Freon level is low in the system, the A/C clutch will not engage for any length of time, Putting a jumper wire on the pressure switch will work, only if the A/C system has a Full or partial charge in the system...after you have completely checked the wiring system,A/C relay, and Fuse panel, then the climate control module should be looked at as well...Check these websites for replacement parts, ...www.rockauto.com.....www.autopartsworld.com....www.clarksdiscount.com.....In older model A/C systems, when you R&R the relay, fuses, climate control modual, low pressure switch, etc,and the A/C still does not work,.. it becomes a pandoras box of problems, and expensive as well...see if you can get a retired mechanic to help you trouble shoot the air conditioner....
