I have a 1968 Dodge A100 Pickup with a 318 V-8 and a Loadfight 3 Speed Automatic Transmission. I am going to upgrade to newer Dodge 360 V-8 and I would love to upgrade my Transmission to a newer Automatic with and overdrive.

My question is, Is this possible and how hard will it be to change Transmissions? Any recomendations of Transmissions I should be looking for?

Stay with the 318 V-8,it is cheaper to rebuild, and gets better fuel economy than the 360 V8.....The engine swap to a 360 Dodge is a night mare,...you have to use a 70's model 727 automatic transmission, or a three speed transmission out of a 69-72 dodge truck, along with the bell housing and all the linkage..or, if your dead set on doing the change over,..Why don't you go with the newer 2005-07 Dodge HEMI?,with an automatic transmission, There's plenty of them in the wrecking yard's, the swap would take about ten days to get it all straight and you could get 19-22mpg on the highway.
