Involuntary commitment

I had to do an involuntary commitment on my wife after a suicide attempt. She stated that she did not want to talk to me. Since the time of talking to her nurse, no one from the hospital has informed me of any status. I know second hand that she was moved to a facility for continued help. My question is "unless they think I might be some sort of physical danger to her" they are obligated to at least keep me informed of her condition and location. I have no idea of what she told them but I do know she has no physical indication of abuse. I have purposely stayed away from the hospital so as not to give her any feeling that I was trying to "promote my views". I explained that to her nurse because I did not want them to think I didn't care. I really don't know what to do. I love her and do not want to make the situation worse.

I am facing this same problem with my wife. The hospital is hiding behind HIPPA rules and won't let me talk to her or be informed of her condition. Wat can I do?
