Aneurysm

I had a stable abdominal aortic aneurysm that was discovered in a MRI 2006. The aneurysm stayed at about 3.2 or 3.3 cm for 3 years. My last exam, before a serious auto accident the measurement in december 29 of 2008 was 3.3 cm. about 10 weeks later, after my auto accident the aneurysm measured 3.9 cm or about 20 percent larger! My MD vein specialist told me that the accident had nothing to do with the 20 percent increase in size of my vein.
I asked him since I had such a severe blunt force trauma to my chest and stomach( with extreme bruising) couldnt the weakened wall have popped open larger as a result! He told me no! The size has remained at 3.9 in the 6 month followup measurement recently.
I have read many articles on blunt force trauma causing arteries to bust and have a hard time accepting that the impact didnt cause the weakened blood vessle to pop out 20 percent larger! Does anyone know if there is any studies or coorelation between the accident and sudden growth of an abdominal aortic aneurysm
