I currently live in the northwest part of florida and i have a golden orb weaver in my back yard. I was wondering if they can change color when they get prey? I was mowing the lawn and just happened to see a dragon fly hit the web and the spider went for it. I could have sworn that the abdomen changed from a deep reddish to a more yellow color like the top is normally. Can these spiders do that?
