I came to Sweden on 31-05-2009 on work permit. My family(wife and 2 yr old kid) joined on 05-07-2009. They came here on dependency Visa. I heard that according to Sweden law if some one is unemployed, govt is going to provide some benefits interms of money. Right now I dont have SSN or personel number. I planned to apply for it. Do my wife need to have personal number to get these benefits?

I also heard that, as my wife came here on dependency visa, she cant get the benefits. Could you please let me know what exactly I need to do to get these unemployment benefits.
