I came across this photo of iron being tapped into a torpedo at Scunthorpe from one of the Queen blast furnaces in c. 1985.

Does anyone know about the type of torpedoes used there? I worked on these blast furnaces in 1974 just before the explosion that killed eleven workers in 1975 and the torpedoes I remember were much longer and thinner than the ones shown in the photo which seem to be short, stubby "fat" ones of riveted construction.

Could this photo be of an earlier type of torpedo?

Does anyone know which of the four Queens is being tapped?
