This may be moot now that uncle sam has blocked action from being taken.I took basic 1972,after live fire[m60] we would clean them in solvent tanks for that purpous, not 5 feet from me were 55[at least I think they were] gallon drums that were taped off,do not enter.I have all the symtoms, including type 2 diabeteas and no way to be reembursed.at the time I asked this I was hoping to put a case together.Anyone w us?

Yes, I had a close friend who was stationed there in the mid-60's. One time on leave he told me that they were being made to wade in chest-deep water that was filled with Agent Orange. He said directly to me, in anger, that he felt it would kill them. He had a degree in Range Management from New Mexico State University and was quite familiar with the chemistry of defoliants. He died in 1982 at age 41, from Hodgkin's.

I was at the north fort at fort polk from may thru july of 1970.While on bivwac we were sprayed by agent orange to kill the foilage and insects. A huey armed with agent orange was being sprayed by 2 wands under the huey.Any imput would be helpful to me. That stuff kills everything and 40 years later it's killing me!

My husband was there also for training in 1972 and described this thing almost word for word! He also saw the drums. He also said when they went out for bivwak training the vegetation would be wet where it had been sprayed with what he thought to agent orange. He was diagnosed with cancer last year.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU FOUND ANY PROVE OF THESE BARROWS OF AGENT ORANGE. I WAS STATIONED IN FT. POLK OCT. 1970 AND I REMEMBER STUFF RUNNING OFF THE TREES ONTO ALL OF US SOLDIERS. IVE HAD HEALTH PROBLEMS TOO. I ALSO REMEMBER THOSE BARROWS BEHIND HASZEROUS MATERIAL TAPES DOWN BY THE BEER GARDENS. IS THE VA CHECKING THESE THINGS OUT AND IS THERE A CLAIM?

I was permanent party from 1972-1974 at Polk. I've always wondered if we got hit with Agent Orange. I am convinced but we will probably never be able to prove it. I have symptoms, and also had 2/3eds of a lung taken out recently. I believe it was from AO.

My husband was at Fort Polk in the 72. He saw the drums of the stuff, and saw the spraying while in training. He was then shipped to Heilbronn, Germany. Our daughter has multiple health issues that some in Viet Nam have diagnosed agent orange, my husband's heart condition is also on the list. Have run into one brick wall after another due to the fact that there was a fire at Fort Polk, and the paper records were lost. Have you gotten anymore feedback.

Please contact us at debbiegreenman@centurylink.net

My husband was an MP at Fort Polk in 1970/1971 and told stories of the drums on back of trucks, civilian contractors delivering it. After a prisoner escaped from the stockade, he had to escort others into the fields where they sprayed AO to kill the tall saw grass. They were all hit with the spray. My husband inhaled it, tasted it. He passed away in May 2015 of a rare soft tissue sarcoma which is on the list of presumptive AO cancers.

I hope your husband is okay. If anyone knows of recourse or proving this exposure, please contact me at skylineeditor@hotmail.com

Thank you.
Jeannie

Hi Jeannie,
Sorry about your loss.
I was stationed @ Ft. Polk 7/1969-1/1971
I was also an MP, attached to the 551st MP Unit.
I worked at the stockade most of the time.
May I ask what your late husbands name?

Hi Jeannie - would you mind emailing me info as well regarding Fort Polk and Agent Orange? I was there in 1973 for AIT. I have been gathering a lot of material documenting exposures that I will publish to help us all.

Thank so much! Craig
