I an interested in finding out more about the MAN double acting 2 stroke diesel engines. I know the engines had 42mm diameter pistons with a 58mm stroke. But I would like to know what model MAN engine it was. I have sailed on German built ships as an engineer in the 1960s the "Arabic" Shaw Savill Lines but there MAN engine was a single 9 cylinder 100 RPM and 10,000 hp (7500kw) far larger than one of the engines on the Graf Spee (6800 hp) each but there were eight of these giving an approximate Horse Power of 54000 if all engines were running . Can anybody help me please?
