I was on the Cleveland from 1990 to 1994. I do remember when BM2 Font got killed. He was struck by a sound-powered phone box that the phone and distance line was tied to. When the Cleveland and the refueling ship drifted too far apart, the box gave way and struck Font in the neck, spinning him, then he dropped to the deck. We later learned that he did die in flight. I did not know that it was a heart attack as I had thought it was from the blunt trauma injuries. It was a sad day on the Cleveland as BM2 Font was well liked by everyone I knew then, as he was a good friend to me!!
