I am trying to research my fathers service pistol. He was a flight engineer on the B-29 during WWII stationed out of Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He was in the Army Air Corps during that time period and carried a Pistol. My question is does anyone know what the regulation issue side arm for the B-29 crew members was? Thanks

All B-29 airmen during WWII were armed with the .45 pistol.

In addition, all Officers in a combat theater in WWII and Korea whether flight crew or not were issued the .45 Browning Colt for personal protection.
