I am trying to help out a Naval ground crewman that served at Naval Base Argentia in the 60's. His name is Anthony Wayne Trythall (Tony). He was in the VW-13 Air wing at the base. He worked on the EC-121P planes. The information that he is looking for concerns one of his crewmen. The man's name was Michael Androli( not quite sure of the spelling). He was fataly injured while working on one of the planes in a hanger. Tony remembers parts of the accident but is requesting any information that someone may have. Thank you for your service and helping a veteran.

The accident actually happened in Keflavik Iceland, just outside the hangar, as Androli was attempting to place a safety pin in the front strut, prior to shutting down the engines. The front strut collapsed, dropping the plane on its nose, and trapping him underneath and in the wheel well. Attempts were made to lift the plane, but available equipment was not capable of lifting a plane of that size. Medics administered narcotics for pain while heavier equipment was brought in from another part of the base. Finally the plane was lifted, but it was too late to save his life.
