I am teaching an elemantary science and had a question I can't find the answer to: Bonneville dam creates power that is transfered long distances to be used. From what I have read, I am assuming it is converted to high voltage for transfer then converted back to low voltage for use. How much energy is lost in the conversions and in the long distance transfers?
