I am researching land descriptions between Texas and Louisiana. I have come across :....10 chains south of 32 mile mound."

I am mindful that mounds were built along the Texas-Louisiana border, north of the 32nd parallel where the Sabine River has been the recognized boundary going southward.

Does anybody know of the fornmalized system of using these mile mounds in this area?
