I am looking for ancestors of Mary Elizabeth Jayne, born in western Illinois (probably Springfield or the quad cities area) in the 1840s or 1850s. I suspect William may be her father and would like to find out. She married Peter Hakanson and they moved to Fairfield, NE where they farmed.
She is a descendant of Henry Jayne, born about 1580 in Bristol, England and I have a fairly complete lineage up through approximately the American Revolution when there are reported to be about 60 male descendants. But information between that time Mary Elizabeth is very sketchy.
