I am lefthanded...as a child, the few times I tried to write with my right hand, it was hard to control my hand, and lettering was very hard to read. Now, I am in my mid-fifties, and have a pronounced tremor in my left hand. This can be embarrassing, especially in a public setting when I need to endorse paperwork, checks, etc.
On a whim, I decided to try writing with my right hand. I was surprised to note that I can form letters quite well with my right hand (even better than with my left). I have to go really slow, but can print or even write in cursive with the hand I used to not be able to control for fine motor skills.
I am curious: why can I do this now? Is there a change in brain dominance, or could something else cause this to happen?
