Lamborghini V10

I am interested in the change made to the V10 - originally it had "split crankpins" to smooth the firing impulses created by an intrinsically imbalanced configuration: A V10 with cylinder banks at 90 degrees - instead of the ideal 75. Now it seems the new Lamborghini/Audi units have abandoned this?

What are "split crankpins?"

Why is it suddenly OK to go with no compensation for the imbalance...does this not create a rough engine?

Why does not Lamborghini/Audi use a counter rotating balance shaft to smooth the engines, as say many makers of the unbalanced 90 degree v 6's do?
