I am doing reserach with an anaerobe, rhodoferax ferrireducens. However, I have been having trouble with cultivating the bacteria. I have tried bubbling in nitrogen, and even tried over flowing the test tubes and then capping them off. Yet neither of these procedures worked in cultivating the anaerobes. Does anyone have any suggestions on alternative methods?

Hi! You might try bubbling carbon dioxide instead and give it some glucose to grow on. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your microbes? I would love to do some experiments with microbial fuel cells, but I have no idea where to get this amazing little organism. If you could help me, I would be so greatful!
