I am currently doing research on the Russian school 'Lyceum of St Nicholas'. Is it still a school and whereabouts in Harbin would it have been. Any information and images would be most welcome.

Also want to know about the Russian Commercial School for Girls in Harbin. My mother would have been a pupil therein the early 1920's. If anyone remembers anything about it I would love to hear from you.

Liceum St Nicholas in Harbin was founded by polish friars, monks - Marian Fathers. Some information about Liceum you can find reading biographies friars that taught in Liceum St Nicholas:

The apostolate among russion emigrants was carried on by Marian Fathers in the Byzantine - Slavic rite according to the Synodal version:

I invite you to visit St Michael Church in New York website too - there is a lot interesting information connected with the theme of the Russian Chatholic of Byzantine Rite.

God bless you. Rafał Korczewski ( Lodz )

Sorry about the tardy reply but I don't go to this site often.

My grandfather and grandmother lived in Harbin from about 1899.

Mt Grandfather worked for the CER (Chinese Eastern Railway)
My Mother was born in Harbin 1910.She went to the Commercial School for Girls.
They all migrated to Australia in 1927.

My husband's family also lived in Harbin. He and his two brothers were born there and went to Russian School.
The St Nicholas Lyceum. It is still there and is still a school.

They migrated to Australia in 1939. If you would like to reply with your email address I will be able to tell you more.
