I am certain that I served aboard the USS Iwo Jima (LPH-2) during the 1972 Easter Offensive in Vietnam. I was Company Radioman for Alpha Company, First Batallion, Fourth Marines 3rd MARDIV. We were a Vertical Envelopment/Assault USMC Infantry Company involved in support operations. There were several combat missions flown by the Helocopter Squadron stationed aboard as well.

I cannot find any mention of the USS Iwo Jima LPH-2's operations during the 1972 Easter Offensive in any of the online literature.

Can someone help me find any references to these actions? Or am I mistaken regarding the name of the vessel?
