I am a carrier and i have suffered 3 miscarriages all before the 9 week scan, i am 22. I am aware that miscarriages can not be stopped but is there any sort of medication for women with this condition to help the pregnancy??

I am also a carrier of robertsonian translocation and I am 29 years old.
I inherited this gene through my mom, who is also a carrier and suffered 3 miscarriages, and a stillborn, followed by 3 healthy children back to back. this gives me hope!
My husband and I suffered 2 miscarriages, one last year at 5 weeks, which was conceived naturally, and then we went through our first IVF-PGD treatment last month, which also ended in a miscarriage.
I wish there was something that could help our situation. As I have been told by 3 dr's that nature as a way of taking care of things, and when the pregnancy isn't a viable one, or a healthy one, the result ends in miscarriage. we basically have a 1 in 6 chance of having a healthy egg that month. my mom and many others with Robertsonian translocation on these fertility sites have been very informative and helpful, by sharing their personal experiences.
If we decide to go through IVF again, we are told from our dr., that CGH tests all of the chromosomes of an embroy, before they implant it, make sure they put in best ones( the ones that are "normal" or have balanced translocation.)
I Hate that we have had to even consider doing IVF. I,m so scared to try naturally and take a chance. It's so hard to go through this because of an inherited gene, but we have to keep trying and keep our chins up. The ending result of having a family will be worth it. It's such an emotional process, and confusing as well. I wish you lots of luck and I am sorry you are going through this.

Thankyou for your reply, i did'nt no about the chances in our eggs each month, or that IVF is available. Iv always known i have the condition, which is also from my mum. I had 2 miscarriages one at 5 weeks, the second at six weeks, then i had my son who i very nearly lost through breathing complications at birth. He is now 18 months and healthy, but my mum lost my brother at 8 months due to cot death so i was petrified for the 1st year of my sons life. But because he is completely fine i thought it would all be ok to try again which resulted in me miscarrying at 8 weeks. I have learnt to accept that i am always going to have problems having babies, but the reason i have started to look into it more is because my miscarriage are getting later and having a late miscarriage or still birth scares the life out of me. I am realising there is nothing that can be done or changed but i am very hopefull and same as you i will keep trying until i have the family i crave. My aunt who is a carrier had 11 miscarriages and 2 still births over 7 years conceaved naturally last year and gave birth to THREE beautiful healthy baby girls she called them faith, hope and destiny. Everytime i see them i think that there really is light at the end of the tunnel.
