I am American and live in California.I served in the US Air force at High Wycombe Air from 1967-1970 as an Air Policeman and have many fond memories. My last visit to England I attempted show my family were I was stationed but was not allowed entrance because its now RAF High Wycombe. My wife and I will be traveling to London in two months and I would really like to breifly visit my old base. Can any one explaine how do we get permission to visit?
Thanks

Hello, I have recently read that a large development is scheduled for the area to meet increasing population growth. There might not be anything left anymore. My father was stationed at High Wycombe from 67-70 as well. I attended the junior high school on the base. If you are able to visit please contact me, I'd love to see photos of the place after all these years. We lived in Marlow and on the road to Princess Risborough just past the Rose and Crown.

You can tour the base using Google Earth on your computor. I did and noticed it is virually the same. What was your fathers duties on base when you were there ?

Great news about it still being used! My father was an NCO assigned to the weather section just down the road from the gas station. I have great memories of the 3 years we spent there, 67 - 70.

I was very much involved with the Boy Scouts there, our Scoutmaster was the base veterinarian. We met in the building that was just to the right as you came in the gate.
