I read that with ordinary Sudoku at least 17 numbers had to be given to get a viable puzzle, although that conjecture has not been formally proved. Now I am interested in Hyper Sudoku, and wondering what the minimum number of givens would be. I imagine it would be less than 17. Any ideas?
