The oldest fossils of tigers are dated to be almost 1.8 million years old.

All of the lines of carnivores evolved from a group of small weasel-like insectivores called Miacids, which existed 60-55 mya

The Panthera evolved about 3 million years ago. The tiger came along a little later. Evidence points to the establishment of tiger in India and Asia about 2 million years past.
