How long after applying thick CA glue to one side do you have before you mate the two surfaces?

I want to glue a 0.40 styrene sheet to the wood frame of a Chris Craft model boat. The shape of the pieces won't allow me to hold all of the edges together at once, nor can I separate them enough to get glue into the area after part of the piece is bonded.
