One of the outstanding things about pop art is that it uses daily commodities that usually have a more practical purpose like springs, spoons, kites, tooth brushes etc.

Right you are. Another characteristic concerning pop art relates directly to what its name implies: popular culture. A number of artists do interesting, and beautiful, caricatures and renditions of well-known icons (i.e. celebrities, sports teams, etc). Some artists even go into the 3rd dimension and create what's known as 3d pop art . Check it out and enjoy!
