The war in Judea and the siege and destruction of Jerusalem have inspired artists since the Middle Ages. One example is the painting The Destruction of the Temple at Jerusalem by Nicolas Poussin (1637), which is displayed in Vienna.

Another is The Destruction of Jerusalem by Titus by Wilhelm von Kaulbach (1846), housed in Munich.
