How does one go about trying to identify which period specific Egyptian hieroglyphs come from? I've been all over the web looking at symbols that don't completely match the ones I'm trying to identify. They come close to those in the pages of the Book of The Dead, but I can't find a page with a complete list of that alphabet. Also, the traditional symbol for the Eye of Ra isn't the same, so I can't tell if it's a pre-cursor to Ra's time or someone trying to con someone in the last century. Any direction to information that will help me assess my hieroglyphs would be greatly appreciated.
