How does a family go about healing and/or what can they legally do, if police come into their home in the middle of the night, with a search warrant, terrify the children and mother in the house, beat up the oldest son, who thought the house was being broken into, traumatized the little children there, and made so much noise/were so destructive that a neighbor rushed over with a gun to help, because the neighbor thought the house was being broken into and his neighbors were being attacked? This happened to one of my students, who is an exemplary young man! The police found nothing, because this family is wonderful and would never do anything illegal. The police claim they were going off a tip and must have assumed that because the family is a successful Mexican American family that something criminal was going on. I am outraged. What can be done?
