Replied to:  How did evolution start?
Evolution is a process of natural selection that has been going on forever.

Yes, I understand that. What I mean is, everyone is so sure that if anyone is still a little questioning of the science that backs it up they're considered "dumb creationsist" following dogma like sheep. I'm not a religious person, I'd like to just get to the bottom of this once and for all--- for myself. For me it all comes down to the supposed original cell --- how did it start? Having had a few science classes in college I came to understand that a cell is infinitely more complex than a laptop. I learned about peptide chains and how only left handed amino-acids make them up. So, I've heard that the "original cell" formed in a pool of left and right handed amino-acids. What I'm asking here (assuming there is no god) how this incredible functioning thing came into being within a few short years of the earth cooling to let it happen?

I'm mean, Ms Scott is so sure of the science she has made a life of keeping people from hearing another explanation (this is very important to her). I notice on blogs that it is laughable that there are people that STILL can't wrap their heads around the truth of evolution. So, I must be missing something. How did those left handed amino-acids fall together to form this "laptop" and function and reproduce in an environment that was much harsher than today; all this with the laws of probability and chance intact?

I've searched the internet, it seems no one really knows or cares. (maybe someone here knows) If this is unanswerable then science should allow for the questioning of Darwin's theories---Ms Scott's efforts would appear more like insecurity than incredulous apologetics.

Just so people know--- I truly want to know the truth. I understand how the fossil record seems to indicate the truths of Darwin's thoughts. But my big stumbling block will always be the original cell, until someone can show me as plainly as Ms Scott and so many others already know.
