My Father was stationed behind Dover Castle up on the Cliffs during the WWII, he told me of the frquent times he and others whitewashed telegraph poles and placed them out in the open to imitate guns pointing across the channel, these had to be replaced when damaged, they were often attacked and destroyed or damaged while the real guns which were camoflaged were left undamaged. I have been unable to find any trace of him and his fellow Homeguard, any help to do this would be appreciated, I have no idea of any details other than his name Albert Victor Knott
