Historical records claim that my house that I live in now was built in 1843. (I live in Berea, OH) The first known owner of the house was Benino Adams who purchased the house from the Baldwin Institute in 1859. My question is: Did John Baldwin build this house? If not, who did? When you consider how many people there were in Berea between 1843 and 1859 its amazing that we know anything. Evidently the house was here in 1859 when Mr. Adams bought it. Where did John Baldwin live during these years? Did he live in the house and then sell it to Mr. Adams? If anyone has a clue, please let me know. The county records go back to Benino Adams. Then nothing is recorded before that.
