Hi. this is abit long winded but i need help diagnosing this and ive searched but cant find exactly what im looking for.

im 25 and when i was about 14 i started having images of certain places stay with me throughout what ever i was doing, they would appear and stay almost like a background for weeks, sometimes months. these images could be rooms, part of a street, staircases etc. they are all places that i have been. i have never known what this is called, and i was watching a documentary about a little girl who didnt sleep, an the doctor said she had eidetic memory, he went on to discuss it and talked about the symtoms i have explained.

so i want to know if this is eidetic memory or something else. please help ive been tryin to find out for years. thanks
