Go to the national website www.aka1908.com and it will give you the correct answers to your questions. If the AKAs aren't active but are in good standing (not suspended, etc) then you should contact the local grad chapter and show your interest and they will work with you from there. The Grad Chapter can have the chapter restored and start an MIP process. However, if the AKAs are inactive due to suspension, etc then you will not be able to become a member at this time. You will have to wait until they are cleared to be active.
