Hi, john is my name, ive been interested in birds for many years. ive recently saved a bird from attacking magpies & noisy minors, when i went to its rescue it was quite obvious that it had been handled before, as it showed no fear of me & offerred no resistance. ive built a perch for it & keep it in the house . i knew it was not a native australian bird, now this is the question, what is it?
ive checked bird sites & have concluded that it may be a red eyed dove. it has a light pinkish tone to its lower body & its neck & head it also has a black band across its upper back neck area , only a simicircle,
