Hi folks -- I'm new to this forum -- so if I get it ass ways, just ignore me !!! Anyway I have a problem with my 1997 toyota Lucida Estima (previa) -- It shudders significantly on both front wheels when I brake -- badly at higher speeds !! It's as though the pads are gripping firmly on one side of the disks & poorly on the other with a resulting jerky reduction in speed. The disks were replaced on it when we got it first as attempt to resolve the problem with little results. I have checked the sensors behind the each of the disks -- they are clean etc. The problem only seems to be present on the front brakes -- rear brakes are functioning normally !! Can someone please enlighten me as this is driving me mad & I can't imagine it's entirely safe or the best for the car in-that it shakes the car quite a bit !! Please help if you can at all -- it would be much appreciated. John Boyce

I would think this kind of question requires the expertise of a certified mechanic to answer. Or you may end up having more issues to deal with. And you are right is doesn't sound like it's a safe car to be driving. Go to google and type in the search "car experts" you will get a good long list to choose from there.

HI Boyce,
we have replaced our rotors frequently on our 3 previas. seems like they may be under sized for the weight of the vehicle. do you live in hill country?
get them replaced and enjoy that amazing car.
