Hi everone just wondering why the phase 11 only had a 3 speed box, my vanguard doesnt like hills first is to low and second two low

Hi most cars of taht era only had 3 speed gearboxes.I have a phase 2 vanguard and it goes up hills fine.I would make sure everything is tip top with the engine i.e timing fuel mixture etc.It should go up hills no probs with a well maintained engine.Thans Alan.

This engine correctly set up will pull away in top at 10 mph, suggest you check. I climb over the Pyranees twice a year in top.
