Hi all,is it possible to replace the core plug at the rear of the cylinder head on a phase 2 vanguard without removing the head,Also what size is the core plug,Thankyou Alan.

Yes. Not knowing the date of your submission, I feel I might be too late. I have a Triumph Roadster with the same engine and 4 inches clearance between head and bulkhead. The plug is 1.75" in diameter (44mm). I have uploaded on web site www.keskom.co.uk (look to Triumph Roadsters) and scroll down to topic, how it was achieved, it has since been in for 2.5 years and 25,000 miles. Hope this of assistance. Cor plugs are obtainable via the TR Club.
